Lugano Diamonds has unveiled a unique
one-of-a-kind butterfly ring that exemplifies its ability to
envision age-old diamonds in new, artistic forms. The
butterfly ring ($8,600), designed by company president Moti
Ferder, combines thinly sliced rough diamonds framed by
faceted pink diamonds in the form of wings and set atop an
18-karat yellow, rose, and black gold branch design. The ring
even has an articulated oscillating antenna finished with
briolette-cut diamonds. This is just one piece in a series of
designs featuring diamond slices combined with colored
diamonds in elaborate rings from the Newport Beach, Calif.
Company. (949.720.1258, www.luganodiamonds.com)

A New Take on Tequila
Infused vodkas have been commonplace for several years, and
now one tequila maker has experimented with a subtle, yet
distinctive floral infusion. Rosangel from Gran Centenario
Reposado tequila is aged in American oak barrels for 10 months
then moved into port barrels for an additional two months before
being infused with fresh hibiscus flowers to create a unique flavor
and its calming sunset-pink hue. Recommended to be served on
the rocks, the tequila has a perfumed nose with ripe fruit and floral
notes and hints of vanilla. More cocktail recipes can be found on
the brand’s Web site, rosangel.com. A 750-ml bottle is priced at
$36.99.
The Frauscher 717 GT
(www.frauscherboats.com) evokes the
styling of gentlemen’s runabouts of the
late 1920s, when Frauscher first
opened its shipyard on the banks of
Austria’s Lake Traunsee. But the
vessel, which launched last October,
also displays the Austrian builder’s
current penchant for performance. A
shaft-propulsion system helps push
the boat to a top speed of 55 knots,
while the centrally located motor and V-
shaped hull keep the 23.5-foot racer
balanced and smooth. Endowed with a
standard 250 hp engine, the 717 GT
costs around $105,000; it can be
equipped with a hybrid engine for an
additional $40,000.
El Banco Beach Villas on Mexico’s
Pacific Coast available for short-term
lease

Northern California-based land developer Serendipity Land
Holdings recently made two of its El Banco Beach Villas on Mexico’s
Pacific Coast available for short-term lease. Just north of Puerto Vallarta,
El Banco’s Villa Mirador and Villa Los Arcos sit on 110 acres of one of the
longest white-sand beaches on the Punta de Mita peninsula. Surrounded
by acres of privacy, pristine beaches, and views of the Marietas Islands,
the Sierra Madre Mountains, and the Bay of Banderas, the villas also
have all the amenities expected of a luxury resort: golf, surfing, in-home
massages, spa treatments, and meals prepared by a private chef.
Sweeping arches, lush courtyards, private pools, and handcrafted details
throughout the villas help cultivate an appreciation for Mexico’s Spanish-
colonial heritage, while the merging of indoor and outdoor living spaces
fosters a unique connection with Mexico’s natural landscape. Both Villa
Mirador and Villa Los Arcos have four spacious bedroom suites, each
with its own private terrace, and are priced from $2,000 to $4,000 per
night. (877.265.7407, www.elbancomexico.com)
Lamborghini Gallardo
LP 560-4
To maximize the excitement of driving
the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4,
follow these simple steps: Press the
button that engages the Corsa (racing)
mode; disable the traction and stability
controls; remove your foot from the
brake; and then stomp on the gas
pedal. Initiating this launch function,
however, is by no means essential to
the enjoyment of piloting this grown-up
baby bull.
The basic LP 560-4 coupe costs
about $200,000; an updated
roadster version became available
in April, at a price of $221,000.
