Yes,"Confessions of a Video Vixen", is something that definitely needs to
be read. Karrine (Super Head) Steffans is putting the spotlight on a
lifestyle that has been known as" tabu". The one that our daughters of
today see in music videos and aspire to be. Sad, but true. Weather we
want to believe it or not, we encourage our daughters to get a good man
with money, marry well and all of there dreams will come true just like the
fairy tales. In a child's mind today, those words of encouragement could
be misunderstood especially when the parents let there children watch
music videos as a past time and see millionaires who are successful, living
a rich and fabulous lifestyle with a beautiful trophy woman on there are
arm, "Ghetto Fabulous". Parents of today where are you? in oblivia? Don’t
look at this book as another trashy, slutty girl who is bitter, profiting by
telling her story as a prostitute while exposing superstars in the hip hop
industry and NBA, but instead take this book as a Wake-up Call to one of
the oldest professions that is now wrapped up in pretty, irrestible
package that you let in your homes everyday via cable television,
dictating to your daughter what to wear, how to look, how to act and what
kind of man, is a good man. Yes moms, this is one of the jobs your
daughters aspire to have. One of the top 10 professions in todays society
amongst Doctors, Lawyers, Computer Analyst, Video Vixen.
Karrine Steffans thank you for sharing your trials and tribulations with us,
letting us for a moment live vicariously through your life,so we can be
aware of this type "lifestyle" that we as parents let into our homes
everyday through videos that our children memic, not realizing the impact
that it has on todays society. Thanks for going through it and educating
us, women, so that our children won't have to through this and turning
something so negative into a positive by breaking the cycle.Keep Hustl’n.
